Not Fully Potty Trained

If your child is still having accidents or needs help to go to the bathroom, they are not ready for preschool. The last thing you want is for your child to have accidents at school and feel embarrassed in front of classmates.
Has Separation Anxiety
If your child cries every time you leave them with a babysitter or has trouble separating from you at daycare, they are probably not ready for preschool. When you send your child to preschool, they will be away from you for several hours at a time. If they can’t handle being away from you for that long, they are not ready.
Can’t Follow Simple Directions
Every child develops at their own pace, so it’s important to make sure your child is developmentally ready for preschool before you send them off. In the case that your child isn’t able to communicate their needs or follow simple instructions, they may not be ready for the preschool setting. In the classroom, children are expected to listen to their teachers and follow directions. Assuming that they can’t do that at home, they won’t be able to keep up in class either. Easily Overwhelmed
On the occasion that your child is easily overwhelmed or has trouble managing their emotions, they may not be ready for preschool. At preschool, there will be a lot of new things for your child to take in. They will be around new people, in a new environment, and doing new activities. As a parent, you can help your child prepare for this by attending some playdates or short classes with them. This will help them get used to being in a new setting and around new people.
Has Trouble Getting Along With Other Children
Children need to be able to socialize and get along with other kids their age. If your child has trouble sharing, taking turns, or following rules, they may not be ready for preschool. In the classroom setting, children are expected to share toys, listen to the teacher, and follow rules. If your child can’t do that at home, they are not ready yet.
